Is it possible to lets say define the xml “video” tag (the mp4 file) to be the guid of the post? When importing via dump, how can I set what should be the guid?

Sure. You can do it like this:

Iа you import it from a CSV dump, just select “Video” for the appropriate tag filed.

I am sure that works but is there any way to confirm/see this, if it worked? or only by going into the WP database und looking there?

Yes, just run the following code in the “Modification tools” PHP box:

Just replace POST_ID with a numerical ID of the post you want to examine. Its GUID will be shown at the top of the window.

When the feed ist syndicated and cyberseo checks, if the post guid already got postet, does it check with the new value or with the old one, since, perhaps, the php code is triggered after the post is already syndicated?

Yes of course. That’s why GUIDs exist.

Not sure how important it is for others but this would be my feature request:

In the drop down list where you choose guid, it would be cool if one could choose more options, like specific XML tags to be the guid

Do you want the “GUID” option to be added to “Title”, “Link”, “Data”, “Custom 1” etc drop-box options?

Not a problem at all then. Will be added in the next release of CyberSEO Pro.

Yes, this too, but I also mean on the feed settings page under “Basic”, here: Check for duplicate posts by

Also while working a lot with your script, I noticed one thing would be really practically: Being able to edit the dump import settings, for example if I want to add one column or so…

Still didn’t get it. It has a GUID check option already/

Can’t promise to implement this in the new release but someday it will be done.

Well, if I can define the GUID in the dump import settings, I don’t need extra options in the Basic feed settings, of course. Because then I can, for example have the mp4 file as GUID.

But for already existing feeds, I cannot choose the MP4 file to be the GUID, just title and what cyberseo already defined as GUID.
