I’ve asked you to disable OpenAI for a while, till you get an explanation on your API key use from them. You have ignored it.

According to your Log the post thumbnails was not generated because your RSS feed has no images. Make sure that you:

  1. set the plugin to generate the post thumbnail from the first post image (Login to see this link);
  2. the “Extract full text articles” option is enabled (Login to see this link);
  3. read the manual before you alter any default options.

its difficult to disable it and then generate the log you asked for and as explained previously i can’t see before hand if the feed has an image or not until AFTER i’ve ran the programme.

According to your log that post generated one single request, which size was 45 tokens, and that’s correct:

there’s a reddit thread on openAI costing a fortune today so this isn’t just happening to me. it’s possibly due to an update they did this morning.

If you:

  1. read the manual, you wouldn’t have any problems with post thumbnails generation;
  2. read my replies where I clearly said that OpenAI has a problem with stats after launch of their Turbo model (you’ve got billed for Davinci tokens as they were requests, while I was not billed for Turbo tokens at all), you wouldn’t have to panic.

Make sure your OpenAI key was not stolen by someone. If I were you, I’d block it in the OpenAI API Key panel and generated a new one…

I didn’t get that. You have many API keys? Not just one? What for?

In your post above you said that one single post pulled by CyberSEO Pro has generated 45 requests to OpenAI, but… the plugin is able to use one single API Key only – the one you specified on the “Accounts” page. How come?

Is something strange is happening to your OpenAI account and it involves many different(???) API keys, why do you blame the plugin for that? I don’t understand it. Really…

in openAI you generate an API key which you put into cyberseo

about an hour ago i deleted that API key and generated a new one which i then put into cyberseo to replace the original one.

so the RSS feed pull i did a moment ago – well half an hour ago was from the new api key

what i don’t understand is why did the single pull then happen every 5 minutes using more and more tokens?

iv’e now deleted that new API key and have not yet generated a new one in openAI, i’ll generate a new one when i know why this is costing so much today.

According to your first Syndicator Log, which you have posted here for the 1st time (it was shortened by me to for the forum reader’s convenience). You have tried to pull 100’s of posts and, as I assume, not for once. You should realize that if OpenAI GPT was enabled, it was used for every that post even it it was not added, according to your image settings. I mean this one: Login to see this link

But, to be honest, I don’t think so. Simply because every OpenAI Davinci GPT request takes a rather long time, so if you did so, the feed pulling process would take hours of your waiting time…

like i said before i’m not looking for someone to blame i’m trying to figure out what is happening.

for example why is it that from a single cyberseo request my openai account is having tokens taken out every 5 minutes, as happened today for 6 full hours until i ran out of money.

then a moment ago i did another single pull and again that was repeated every 5 minutes draining my account of tokens again and i didn’t even generated a single post.

i would have thought that the cyberseo app was making the requests to openai?

even after i’d deleted the API key from cyberseo the openai account was still showing tokens being used for 10 minutes.

I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE.

so cyberseo only stopped trying to get that RSS feed after i deleted the API code or it would still be trying to generate a post?

The thing is that it couldn’t happen. First of all, CyberSEO Pro has no idea about your OpenAI API keys. It knows only one of them. The one you entered on the “Accounts” pages. If any other API key is being used, CyberSEO Pro has absolutely zero relation to it. Also it will take a hour to make 100’s of OpenAI Davinci requests, so I believe you would notice that. Right?

The only thing I can say is that you have a problem with your whole OpenAI account (especially if you have more than one API key there). Also I can say that CyberSEO Pro has no relation to this situation at all.

please give me an email address for support as this is unhelpful

to be clear – I CHANGED THE API KEY IN THE PLUGIN! it’s not difficult to do that you simply delete the old one and paste in the new one and you’re then using the new api key.

secondly it looks to me like cyberseo is making repeated requests for posts again and again and that’s what’s burning my tokens

  1. If the API key was changed, the plugin won’t pull any feeds with an old API key.
  2. If you started to pull a feed, the plugin will be stopped after the specified time period in any case. Please read the manual: Login to see this link
