how do i pull in an image from an existing news article to add into the new document as the featured image?
i’ve tried using the AI image creator but the images are always totally random and nothing at all to do with the original article so i don’t want to create a new image just pull in the one that’s already associated with the text
how do i do that? i can’t image it’s not a function, i just can’t seem to find it?
currently i’m manually adding the image to each created document which is taking time and doesn’t allow the process to be fully automated.
any help would be much appreciated as this is annoying

i’ve been using the wordpress plugin for a few weeks now at around $0.4 per day but today it burned thru $35
anyone else have this? other than making a few feed pulls to try and get images on 6 feeds ive done nothing but the openAI account is showing 3000 requests when i’ve literally generated like 12 posts today.
WTF is going on?
It’s stopped now but only because my credit limit was reached.

And one more question. Did you provide your OpenAI token to anybody?

i was doing the media handling and thumbnail thing before i posted but it wasn’t bringing in any images. wasn’t even making any posts. what does appear to have been happening is an absolutely massive use of the openAI credits today while i was trying to make a dozen posts with images pulled in.
is that normal? does bringing in the image use so many tokens?

You said you were trying to use “AI image creator”, so I assume it was OpenAI DALL-E 2. In this case it explains just everything. The image generation costs a lot of money. Incomparable more than just a text generation. Please check their pricing here: Login to see this link

no i wasn’t using the AI image generation. i have tried that before as explained above and it gives nonsense results. today i was using the media handling function – it never worked, not once but the account spend is off the scale.
i’m not blaming anyone, im just trying to figure out what went wrong so i can avoid it happening again.
would this happen – the huge account spend that is if the internet connection was unstable? is it possible that the same request was sent over and over? i only have 6 feeds active and sometimes get 12 posts out of then in a single pull but today was thousands and the posts are not set up on a timer so shouldn’t have been happening every hour.

I see that you have exceeded all your money with DALL-E 2. According to your Syndicator Log in other thread, there was no overuse of OpenAI GPT tokens by the plugin. So I would suggest you to contact OpenAI and send you the detailed stats on their service use.

So, that’s definitely not a plugin-related issue. You said you were using AI to generate images. Every single image costs you $0.02. So, 100 images = $2 USD.
Have you provided your OpenAI API key to anybody? You didn’t answer to this important question.
Anyways, the only 100% working solution to find it out is to ask OpenAI team to provide you the following information: which exactly requests (GPT or DALL-E) and from what IP they were made?
P.S. When I switched my site to Turbo model, it stopped count my tokens at all. So it could be a glitch at their side.

no as i said in the other post, i was using the AI today to pull in images from the posts. which is why i do not understand the massive spend today out of the 2000+ requests, i generated 12 actual posts not one with an image.
AND AGAIN AS I’VE ALREADY SAID NO I HAVE NOT GIVEN MY KEY TO ANYONE!

yes i TRIED using the image generator like a week ago! I DID NOT USE IT AT ALL TODAY!
look i’m just trying to figure out 2 things
1 – how do i pull images in because the media thumbnail thing didn’t work today
2 – why did i burn through $30 today when generating only 12 posts total

Ok, so nobody else could use it, right? According to your logs, the plugin haven’t used them too. The only way to find it out is to contact OpenAI directly.

1) What do you mean on “the media thumbnail thing didn’t work today”? It’s just an option. It has no weekends or special days to work or not. Otherwise this forum was flooded by threads like “why featured images stopped generated today?”
Try to pull a feed. When the image won’t be generated, copy the Syndicator Log – not all please(!), but just a part about one single post which has come w/o a featured image and then I’ll tell you the reason. Everything you have to know is written in the log.
2) This question should be forwarded to OpenAI team. As I said above, they definitely have some problems with their stats. One of my sites, that uses their Turbo model did almost 100 requests during 24 hours and none of them was counted.

i’ve tried contacting them like 10 times before i contacted you guys. you get a chat feature which tells you someone will get back to you but so far my 10 requests for info have received no reply at all in the last 4 hours.
like i said i’m not looking to blame anyone its £25 or so i’ve lost, i’m more interested in figuring out what went wrong today, was it bad internet? if i get info from openAI i will post it on here.
the timer in the cyberseo app is set to 0 so it is never automatically pulled, i have no idea why i have hourly logs for usage as i did not manually pull that often. when i discovered what was happening it restored the website from a backup.
i have no AI image generation as from trying that in the past it jsut does not work for what i’m looking for
the media pull, i’m clearly doing wrong but don’t want to try it again in case it costs $30 again. i’ll do that again when i figure out why so much was spent.
so on the media pull this is what i had ticked:
store images locally – tick
store base 64 – tick
media insert – top of post
post thumbnail – create from first post image
post thumbnail is required – tick
everything else blank, no video
is there anything wrong with the above?

Only your Syndicator Log (any its part about a single post w/o a featured image) will help you to find the problem.
P.S. You set the “media insert – top of post”. What for? Does your feed has media attachments? Have you read the manual? Also, are you sure your RSS feed has images in posts? Have you enabled the Full text extractor option? See how many questions there? And all the answers are in your Syndicator Log…

what i mean by the thumbnail pull didnt work is that it didn’t import an image from the original article.
i’m running a feed now with the media pull options
on the media pull this is what i had ticked:
store images locally – tick
store base 64 – tick
media insert – top of post
post thumbnail – create from first post image
post thumbnail is required – tick
everything else blank, no video
i’ll post the log and if it worked or not in a moment.

Try to pull a feed right now (without OpenAI GPT, DALL-E etc). Pull it just to see if a post thumbnail was generated for it or not. If it wasn’t, simply post your Syndicator Log here. Just don’t post it all – respect the forum readers. Post a part of it for one single post.
P.S. First of all, you could contact me by email and send me your feed settings which, as you believe, has causes an OpenAI Key overuse. But I’ve got no feed settings from you. Why? Also, you say that post thumbnails are not being generated, but I can’t see your System Log, which is the first thing you had to do. Why?
