Since the last update of CyberSyn the images don’t show up in the media libary if I don’t turn on some thumbnail generating option… so wordpress can’t use external plugin for generating thumbs because it sees nothing in the media libary (however the image is uploaded……….)
But if I turn ON the thumbnail generating in CyberSyn, the posts without images don’t get syndicated at all, which is an error lasting for very long and you do nothing about it……… You know it’s fucked up because links still get shared to facebook by plugins because they get the ping then they point to 404 links…
This was the only way for me to get this plugin work the way I wanted to, to turn off thumb generating and use an external plugin for it… now this got fucked up as well
Thank you for your last “update”, is there any way for me to downgrade the plugin to the previous version?…

The recent update doesn’t affect the thumbnail generation (the history of changes is available at wordpress.org). That must be something at your end. I have only added form field filtering there because it was required by WordPress team. They say I have filter out every value the plugin’s admin (you) enters in the forms, since he may try to hack his own site. Sounds a bit strange, but I have to follow their rules, otherwise the plugin will be taken down.
As about “the posts without images don’t get syndicated at all”, so it’s not an error but a feature. If you set CyberSyn to generate featured images, it won’t add a post if it can’t generate a featured image for it, because those WP themes that use featured image will look weird.

yeah they will but it’s still better than posting 404 links to facebook by autoposter plugins, because they do that, they get the ping there is actually a new article on the feed and post the link immediately but the article it’s not there
all in all, I would be very grateful if someone implemented a checkbox for turning it on and off if I still want articles posted when there is no image for thumb generating, or not

but explain me if the plugin has nothing to do with that bug then how can turning on the thumbnail generating option fix the problem?

Once again, that’s not a bug. That’s a feature. The featured image can’t be generated before the post was already created. So when post is already created, but featured image generation has failed, plugin simple deletes it. I’m not going to change this behavior, because it’s what the most of the customers need. Not many use facebook by autoposter plugins and even less use feeds with broken images. On the other hand, a broken layout of index page is a real serious issue for them.

I’m not telling you to change this behaviour I’m only asking if it’s possible to implement an option to turn this behaviour off if I want to and get posts without images still posted if I have thumb gen. turned on, I don’t know how complicated that would be anyway… I would even donate some small amount if you sacrifice the time to make this possible
