Hello,

Is it possible to update existing post. I don’t want to duplicate or skip. I want to update with the new content. How can I do it. Maybe automating to deleting existing one and create the new post with the same slug?

Thanks for the great tool

If the post exists in the feed you are pulling, it can be updated because the plugin knows where to get the updated content in case it has changed. To do this, you need to enable this option: Login to see this link

So, for example, if there are 10 posts in your feed and you want to add new posts and update the existing ones every time you pull the feed, you should enable “Republish existing posts” and set “Maximum number of posts” to 10.

Thank you. It’s a json file and the number of entries are increasing every day. Yesterday there are 512 items. Today it is 572. So, I don’t know the amount of new items. What should I do in this scenario?

The you can set “Maximum number of posts” to 512 or to 1000. The only limitation is the capacity of your server. Processing feeds and updating posts in the WordPress database takes time and server resources. The more posts you want to process, the more resources it will take.

That’s great! Thank you!

One last quick one. Can I keep status of updated posts. For example, if a post was draft, can it be still draft after update. Same for published ones.

You can define the post status for all new posts in the feed, but you can’t keep them as they were before the update.

Is there a workaround with custom code? I can code if you point which file I need to look at. It’s really important to me.

Since this feature should not interfere with the plugin functionality for other users, I have added preserving post status to the script. Please update your plugin core in CyberSEO Pro->General Settings panel.

Great support, thank you!

I checked the “Republish existing posts” option. The update function works flawlessly. But, the updated posts are being “draft” even if they are published. (I published some of the posts manually before update)

Is it related with the “Post status” option? Because it is selected as “Save as draft”. Am I missing something?

Perhaps you are talking about the new posts. See, if an existing post is replaced, its status is given to its updated copy. If a new post is added, then its status becomes whatever you specify in the feed settings.

Have you updated the plugin in CyberSEO Pro->General Settings? I can not reproduce the situation shown in your video because when I change the status of an existing post to published, its new version also remains published dispute the “Post status” option value.

Yes, I updated the plugin. Maybe another option I set is causing this? But I don’t know which one.

Export your feed settings to a file and send it to Login to see this link, so I could reproduce it locally.

If everything works fine after reinstalling the plugin, it means that the plugin was not updated before.
