Hi,

Is it possible to store the source link in a custom field so I can link to the source without having it in ‘the_content’, can I do that perhaps via inserting php code?

And would it also be possible to check it the link (value) in the custom field already exists and if so, set the post status to draft?

BR

Yes, it is, and here is the manual: Login to see this link

In your case, the “Custom fields” box should contain something like this:

where “my_custom_filed_name” must be replaced with the actual custom field name.

The value in the custom field cannot exist before the post is created. Only existing posts can have custom fields.

I have tried it like that before but it didn’t work. Maybe I need to use the field key instead of the name as it was generated by ACF.

If that doesn’t work I will create a field manually to check, thanks so far.

The method explained above works as it should. Export your feed to a file and send it to Login to see this link so I can verify your settings.

Can I use ‘%link%->custom_field_name‘ as I want to store the post source url, so I can direct link to the original post.

Or does your formatting already take care of that?

%link% is a reserved shortcode for the post link. It’s not a custom field. It’s a WordPress post attribute. You can write to it, but you can’t read it, because it doesn’t exist until the post is not generated. For example:

or

The actual post source URL is stored in the XML tag of the feed. So to store its value in my_custom_filed_name, the rule must be:
