Hello Admin,

Lets assume our feed has 7 items. If we specify “3” for the Maximum number of posts to be syndicated from each feed at once, does the code always consider the very 1st 3 items in the feed?

Or does it consider all items in the feed we specified, and take the next available 3 items in the feed to publish (if for instance, the 1st 3 items are seen as duplicates)?

note; i’m hoping the code ‘scans’ all items in the feed by default, so, if we specify “1” it will not always be the 1st item in the feed checked.

Both statements are correct. The plugin always starts from the first item in the feed (the most recent one) and moves to the next one if the post was syndicated already. However you can override the parsing order using the “Shuffle feed items” option.

Hello Admin,

The ‘shuffle feed’ option say “It Takes More Resources”… if the “Maximum number of posts to be syndicated from each feed at once” remains the same, for example ‘3’ ,  if all items are always considered, why would selecting this option matter to server ‘resources’?

(perhaps you could give us some details of its operation?)

sincerely,
cyber1

Because the plugin always loads a whole feed (doesn't matter how many posts there). When “Shuffle feed items” is enabled, all the feed's items are getting extracted and shuffled. This may take a lot of server resources in case if the feed is a rather big and contain a thousand(s) of items.

Hello Admin,

Oh.. i see.  My feeds have no more than 10 or so items (by design) so I don’t think this matters here.

So is this assumption correct? ;

If my feed has ’10’ items and I ask for ‘5’ to be syndicated with ‘shuffling’ enabled, that, best case, 50% of the items will be posted, assuming no there are NO duplicates found?
