I enabled the “Link to source” setting to make the post links go directly to the source. It works fine for the posts created by CyberSEO, but all the posts that I created manually now don’t open, they just reload the page I’m on. That happens everywhere on the site. When I disable the setting the manual post links work again but the CyberSEO posts now go to the local page instead of the source page.

I would like this functionality to only work for the posts created by CyberSEO.

It seems like it is expecting a URL in the “cyberseo_post_link” custom field. If the custom field is empty (as in manually added posts) it leaves the link empty. If add the custom field to the manual posts and enter their URL then the links work.

Yes, it uses the cyberseo_post_link custom field value to as a redirect source.

Fixed in version 10.033.

Thanks for heads up!

OK, great. Thank you.

Would there be a way to make it also create a 301 permanent redirect so if someone directly uses the real permalink it still redirects to the source URL?

I tried the update and it works now, but I noticed a strange behavior.

When on a manually added post, the recent posts links are always going to the local URL even for those that were added by CyberSEO. Once I go to that CyberSEO post, the recent links will work with the Source URL instead of the local one.

If you add a post manually, you have to create a custom field for cyberseo_post_link in your WordPress post editor, and set the redirect URL there. Otherwise how CyberSEO pro will know, it’s not a local post but a post, which must be redirected?

Found a nice workaround, without using the  “Link to source” setting.

Adding the following code to the Theme’s Single Post (single.php) file just before the “get_header(); ?>” will automatically redirect to the external link if the cyberseo_post_link custom field isn’t empty. Works with direct links too.

I believe the previous tip should work. At least, I can’t see any problems with link redirection on my test blog. Also don’t forget about Ctrl+F5 to reset your browser cache.
