Hello Admin,

Would you please consider ‘tweaking” the “XML Syndicator” screen to make this a bit more ‘user friendly. I’m finding some very simple day-to-day tasks are making it cumbersome to use.

-Move the ‘checkbox’ to the very 1st column (to prevent have to always scroll to the right side).

-Improve/Fix the column sizes because the ‘feed title’ column is shrinking while the ‘URL’ column is taking up the entire screen width.

-add a column for ‘Category’ so we can easily tell what we  have set up.

-‘Number’ the feeds so we have some idea what order we’ve added things (to track our feeds)

-allow some basic ‘sorting’ on columns by category (at least number in the order we’ve added showing the number of each item)

ps; Also, I know I’ve asked but feed ‘Copy’ option would be very useful because one cannot re-apply the default rules once a feed is set up. Quite often feed settings need to be copied over and over again.

pss; Also, please I am unable to upload an ATTACHMENT (i.e.screenshot) to show you visually these suggestions, can you please add this feature to the forum?

Sincerely,
cyber1

The only improvement I can do so far is to implement the 'URL' shrinking. Th feed numbering/sorting can not be done because the plugin does not store the order the feeds were added. Also I'm not sure it's a good idea to add one more column for categories because the feeds table will be overloaded with excessive information.

As about the images, you can insert them using the standard [img] bb code. Just make sure to upload your picture to some free image hosting.

Hello Admin,

Each feed already has an ID # , so this has to be something important, if not at least ‘sort’ the feeds on the ‘title’ so we can track things. For us, this is our primary interface working with the application day to day so ease of use is critical.

Adding the category would definitely not clutter up things (i have tested other products that have many, many columns and here more is better), however, even more important if 1 column was available –> can you please add a “Last Run Time” column?

Note: In regards to the attachments/images in the forum.. we cannot be expected to upload every image to our web host every time we wish to ‘illustrate’ something simple in the forum! that’s just not practicle.  isnt the point here to make the forum as convenient a place for us to exchange information? That menu bar has useless things  like ‘smiley faces’ while something critical for a forum , an image attachment isn’t even available? I’m not trying to be difficult, but , I really think you need to consider adding this.. very basic feature for us, the customers to help exchange information.

Sincerly,
cyber1

  1. No it hasn't. The feeds are stored as a sorted PHP array. No ID's and no dates there.
  2. The “Last Run Time” column has been added. Please check the new release info: Login to see this link
  3. Sorry but I,m not the author of the forum engine (regarding your comments on “useless things in bar menu” etc)

Hello Admin,

Thank You very much for updating the ‘XML Syndicator’ screen, this makes things much easier to use!!!

Note: Would it be possible to have the ‘Feed URL’ editable in ‘edit’ mode screen?

Many time feeds change or need to be updated slightly, and this would also help day to day maintenance of campaigns (vs having to delete everything just to change the feed URL).

Regards,
cyber1

Hello Admin,

I’ve just upgraded to 5.2.9 and now see we can ‘edit’ feed URLs, this is a huge help for day to day admin/maintenance and site support activities!

thanks very much!!!
