Is there some php code that can set the primary category (wordpress) based upon if certain keywords are found in the post title?  I found the code you provided for determining categories, however, it does not set a primary category.  Currently, if a post has x number of keywords, the post is assigned to x number of categories, however, the primary category becomes the first category alphabetically.

There is no concept of "primary" term in WordPress. Taxonomies are grouping mechanism. Post belongs to multiple terms on equal terms (no pun intended). No term is "more" of a group than the rest.
