I am pulling posts just fine, except the featured image. Can I use custom fields to get it? I have thumbnails set to “generate from the thumb custom field.”

The featured image is contained in a div like the below. Please let me know. Thanks!

If the image is already contained in the post you are syndicating, you have to use the “Generate from the first post image” option.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work. If I choose the option you mentioned, it turns the first picture in the body of the post into a featured image, but it doesn’t get the real featured image from the original post.

How can I get the featured image from the original post? Thanks!

To make things clear, the post has the Featured Image then the post title then the body of the post.

So it looks like the plugin starts pulling from post-content, and the featured image is just above that. If we can make it pull starting at blog-post, it will get the featured image.

There is no featured image in your example. There is a just picture above the text. The plugin will use that first picture to create the featured image. So you will have both: a post with a featured image that duplicates the image from its body.

Actually I still can’t get your question. Do you want to create the featured image and then remove the first picture from the original post?

The featured image is right above
, it’s on line 2

I sent you an example by email.

What I want is to get the featured image of the original post, which is

You showed me an example of the blog post. The CyberSEO plugin does not parse blogs. It parses the XML (RSS) feeds. Thus let’s take a take a look at any post in the RSS feed you are trying to pull. E.g.:

I can’t see any “featured image” there. That’s just a text with a picture.

I have a question similar to the original poster. I have an xml feed generated from a text file that outputs as:

Overcast

http://fhg2.babes.com/index.php?fid=uxQDN0ojM&nats=MTQ3NDEuMTIxLjIuMTEuMC4zNjYuMC4wLjA

http://fhg2.babes.com/index.php?fid=uxQDN0ojM&nats=MTQ3NDEuMTIxLjIuMTEuMC4zNjYuMC4wLjA

               <tags>Babes Network, Jodi Taylor</tags>
               <thumb>http://static.bb.contentdef.com/scenes/4441/s240x135.jpg</thumb>

In this feed, the featured image is defined as thumb but there is no featured image set in the resulting post. What am I doing wrong? What tells CyberSEO which is the featured image?

Addendum: for now, I have the feed set to generate thumb from first post image which works but it would be cool if it would use the image created just for that reason.

1) Add the following line into the “Custom fields” box:

thumb->thumb

2) I set the “Post thumbnail” option to “Generate from the “thumb” custom field“.
