Hello,

I recently purchased a thesaurus so I can create a synonym table, but in the meantime I would like to syndicate feeds, and do so without syndicating the descriptions? I want to avoid a duplicate content penalty.

How can I do this? Thanks.

I didn't get your question. Sorry.

When I syndicate RSS feeds, it includes post title, descriptions, pictures, and videos.

But what if I don’t want to syndicate the description of the content so I can avoid the duplicate content penalty. This will be until I create my synonym table.

I see. But what's your question however?

My question is how do I stop CyberSEO from syndicating the descriptions of the content for a particular feed?

The CyberSEO plugin v.5 does not syndicate descriptions if there is a content in the feed. In works the following way:

  • if there is content element in the feed, it will be syndicated as a post body;
  • if there are no content element, the short description will be syndicated instead.

Sorry, I used the terms “description” and “content” interchangeably. I meant content. If the content element consists of text, images, and a video, is it possible to block the text from syndication? This way, only the images and video are posted?

If not, will limiting how much text is seen by the reader before a “click here to read more” help avoid a duplicate content penalty? And if that does help, how can I automatically limit the words (or characters) of the text.

Yes, of course that’s possible. Could you give me an example of the RSS feed you want to remove the text from?

Just put this simple code into the “PHP code <?php .. ?>” box on the feed settings page:
