Both features have been added in version 1.005. Note that the "Media library" option allows you to add only full-sized images to the library with or without the generation of their resized versions, while the post thumbnail is always created in various sizes because your WordPress theme requires them for its visual layout.

JPEG and WebP formats are now available for image conversion. The plugin now allows you to set a compression level for them.

The plugin does not compress images - I understand it

The goal is to compress all generated images for publications to reduce disk space. Here is an example: one generated image has a weight of 5.27 MB after compression of 834.98 KB, if there are 1000 such images, then they will take up 5.27 GB of space

The plugin does not compress the images. It just gets them as they are from the model used to generate them.

As about the media library. When generating a thumbnail for a post, WordPress always automatically adds it to the media library. All other images are not added to the library to save disk space. Of course this feature can be implemented, but could you explain the purpose of adding them to the media library? What are the benefits?

You should note that when you add an image to a media library, WordPress automatically generates a set of its copies in different sizes according to your WordPress "image sizes" settings (Settings->Media), and it may generate even more images required by the settings of the theme you are using. So it's a significant waste of your disk space...

Hi, great plugin but noticed some issues the generated images are not showing up in the media library except for the Post Thumbnail.
And this creates a problem with their compression, because the image has a weight of 3 to 5 MB, which is a lot.
It would be great if you could fix this
