You're setting the total number of illustrations for the entire article, not for each section. 

I think I understand your situation. Do you see the same picture twice on the page? That's because your featured image (post thumbnail) is the same as the image in your article. You should either generate a unique featured image (item #2 below) for your articles or disable featured images on pages in your WordPress theme settings.

  • None - the post will not have a thumbnail image

However, if the prompt used to generate all the images is the same, the images will be similar but not identical.
